DIAMOND DAYS

I spent a few days this last week driving the Neil Diamond Band around the Seattle area . My days consisted of running errands for the band and management etc ....
The most memorable moments I can not air via this blog as it could jeopardize future
driving jobs . If you're interested in the details it'll cost you a drink of my choice at a bar of my choice (actually , any bar , and any drink will do)
I will say that the catering for the four day event was absolutely amazing .
My compliments to Chef Jason from Tom Cat Catering for providing some of the best cuisine I've seen since eating at Michael Mina's restaurant in Vegas last month .

When I wasn't busy driving 'Royalty' around this week I was busy playing drums with the Hope and sitting in as guest drummer with the Vinyl Avengers down at the Owl And Thistle . The Dusty 45's also kept my evenings busy last week with two shows here in Seattle . The next few weeks will be devoted to finishing production on the new 'Praying Hands' CD . My dad and I will meet again this week to go over cover art for new release , I can't wait to see what he's come up with . My dad's illustrations have a little in common with Charles Burns or Daniel Clowes (two favorites)

This week's rotation :
The Hope 'In The Deep'
John Ramberg (demos)
Neil Diamond (concert and sound check)
Sigor Ros (new one)
Zap Mamma (Triple Door Concert,Thanks Matt!)Amazing show !
Amadou & Mariam ( A new CD produced by Manu Chao ) One of the most exciting "world music" CDs I've heard in months .(On Nonesuch)
Mills Brothers (1930's Recordings Box Set)
Funkadelic 'Cosmic Slop' (Amazing record that bridges the gap between Hendrix , P-Funk , Sly & The Family Stone etc...)
